Young Explorers Montessori Bilingual School, The Gambia, is based on the international Montessori pedagogical system dedicated to children between one and twelve years. It offers an environment specially designed for early childhood and elementary education where children feel safe and at home; where they are valued, respected and loved; where their developmental needs are met every day. In our School, adult intervention is reduced to the minimum thanks to state-of-the-art “self-correcting” materials. This enables the children to develop independence, responsibility, self-consciousness and social interaction skills. They learn how to relate with others within the community as well as to express and manage their emotions.
